We completed the rigorous WBENC application process in 2006, and this certification lets businesses and government offices rest assured that Brown & Meyers is in fact 51% owned by a woman. Our Employees
The Brown & Meyers staff includes an administrative team of 8 professionals in Portland, Maine, managing its operations, marketing and sales, customer service, and accounting. Our 80-plus transcriptionists are located throughout the United States, in every time zone. This helps us ensure rapid turnaround times and responsive service, no matter how tight your deadline is!

Kate Meyers-Coyne, Founder, President & CEO

Kate Meyers-Coyne
Kate has been in the court reporting and transcription business for 15 years. She began as a freelance court reporter and then opened Brown & Meyers in 1994. She significantly expanded the firm when she started offering medical transcription services in September of 1997. Also in 2006, she invested in an online AAA-rated document/content hosting portal to provide faster, more accessible services to the firm's clients. Kate has an A.S. in Court Reporting from Mid-State College and a B.S. in Business Administration from Husson College. Her two dogs, Molly and Nellie, often accompany her to the pet-friendly Portland office. Kate resides in Scarborough with her husband and pets.
