Explosive Growth Demands Larger Facility for Brown & Meyers

Portland, ME –  Kate Meyers, President of Brown & Meyers, announced the acquisition of a new facility and impending relocation of the Brown & Meyers headquarters from Portland to Scarborough, Maine.   This strategic move follows several years of steady growth in document management systems in response to business trends toward more efficient and cost effective methods for storing vital information.

The new  office and warehouse facility enables Brown & Meyers to offer expanded offsite records storage services, provide a secure records review area for audits, expand onsite document scanning bureau, and provide confidential deposition and conference rooms .  They will continue to deliver outstanding regional court reporting and nationwide digital transcription services.

“Many businesses are required by law to maintain data and vital records for many years.  With information and document management trending to digital, Brown & Meyers assists businesses with the transition from hardcopy to digital format,” states Ms. Meyers. “In addition, Brown & Meyers securely stores regulated documents allowing business to repurpose office space while reducing storage costs.  This new facility raises the bar for information and document storage management for businesses in New England and positions Brown & Meyers for future growth nationwide.”

Starting in 1994 with its roots in court reporting, Brown & Meyers has steadily expanded its services over the past 18 years to include medical and legal electronic transcription nationwide.  In response to federal regulations requiring all medical records be converted to digital format by 2014, Brown & Meyers implemented a host of large scale scanning services to assist businesses with the transition to digital file management I 2008.  In 2009, Brown & Meyers added secure document storage to their menu of services rounding out their information storage offerings.

Brown & Meyers anticipates the new headquarters to be fully operational by the end of September, 2012.

Brown & Meyers Transcription Company Receives WBENC Certification

Brown & Meyers is First Woman-owned Transcription Firm in New England to Receive WBENC Certification

Certification raises Maine-based firm's stature among corporations and government agencies looking to hire woman-owned businesses

PORTLAND, Maine – Brown & Meyers, a Portland, Maine-based company providing transcription, document management and court reporting services nationwide, has achieved certification from the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC).

The WBENC certification of Brown & Meyers as a woman-owned business means the firm will now be recognized more prominently among the growing number of corporations and government agencies with supplier/vendor diversity programs. The WBENC is the leading advocate of women-owned businesses as suppliers to America's corporations.
Brown & Meyers, owned by Kate Meyers-Coyne, is the only firm of its kind throughout New England to earn WBENC certification. The company is the region’s leading provider of high quality transcription, document management and court reporting services, and is known for offering leading-edge technologies.

“We pursued this important certification to become a resource for large companies and governmental set-asides for women-owned vendor companies and other ‘disadvantaged’ business groups,” said Meyers-Coyne, a Scarborough resident. “Many organizations receive government subsidies when they meet diversity quotas, and now we can offer them an option for hiring a woman-owned firm for the services we offer.”

Brown & Meyers’ services include transcriptions, paper-to-electronic media scanning and imaging, online content and document management, file storage, court reporting, videotaping and other solutions related to recordkeeping and compliance. The firm serves medical groups, legal entities, insurance companies and other organizations in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and across the nation.

WBENC is a resource for the more than 700 US companies and government agencies that rely on the WBENC certification as an integral part of their supplier diversity programs. To become a certified vendor, Brown & Meyers completed a rigorous application process to prove its 51 percent woman-owned status. WBENC certification, one of the most widely respected certifications in the nation, is an important marketing tool for expanding a minority company's visibility among decision makers in corporate supply chain diversity and procurement.

Brown & Meyers, located at 160 Pleasant Hill Road in Scarborough, Maine, was founded in 1994 and has since grown into New England’s leading provider of high quality transcription, document management and court reporting services. The firm has continuously invested in leading-edge technologies and a talented staff to deliver the region’s most responsive service. In 2007, Brown & Meyers launched its advanced online content and document management services by becoming an exclusive, certified reseller of CompuTh!nk® software and Web-based integrated document management/e-mail archival solutions.
