Brown & Meyers
Moves to Portland
Released
3/28/03
Brown & Meyers,
Inc. a locally based, national transcription company, has moved its
offices to 536 Washington Avenue, Portland, Maine. The new telephone
number is 207.772.6732. The company was formerly located at 273 Main
Street, Yarmouth, Maine.
According to company president Kate Meyers, the move will enable the
company to better serve the local medical and legal communities.
The company was founded in 1996 and provides services to thousands
of clients across the United States.
Brown & Meyers provides transcription services via its Internet-based
digital dictation system. Clients dial a nationwide toll-free telephone
utilizing any touch-tone telephone and dictate into the digital system.
The buttons on the telephone work similar to the buttons on an analog
or digital recorder. Once the dictation is complete and the client
hangs up the telephone, transcription may immediately take place by
its expert team of transcriptionists, utilizing the same word processing
software that the client uses. The digital dictation system is extremely
user-friendly and offers HIPAA compliance, secure, 128-bit encryption
and user id and password protection. Dictation may be done 24/7, and
completed reports may be retrieved from the site 24/7. Digital recorder
files may also be uploaded to the site securely. Tape transcription
services are also available. Brown & Meyers specializes in transcription
services for the medical, legal and insurance communities, but also
has a vast array of clients from many other business and personal sectors.
Court reporting services are also provided, and their new offices boast
a large, onsite conference room available for depositions and hearings.
Brown & Meyers has a staff of 45, and provides services for regular,
overflow and vacation coverage situations, offering 24-hour turnaround
or better. There are no minimum fees or minimum usage requirements.
Founded in 1996 by Kate Meyers, a resident of Portland, Maine, the
company has grown in the last two years to double in size. Meyers is
a graduate of Husson College for Business, Mid-State College of Auburn
for court reporting, and is a graduate of Deering High School.
